Hello! My name is Stephanie, I live in the Northern Virginia area. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and we have two boys (19 and 14). Growing up I was never an athlete. My anxiety always steered me away from trying new things, it was easier to stay in my comfort zone. About 15 years ago I became a stay-at-home mom. I slowly lost my identity, and just identified myself only as a wife and mom. Devoting my all to my husband and my boys. Last summer I was diagnosed with depression and major anxiety; at first I was in shock, but as I reflected, it all made sense. Leaning to food for comfort, never wanting to step out of my comfort zone, many nights of no sleep, and simply just feeling empty. After I started taking the steps to a healthier state of mind I knew I needed to work on my physical health. I would hide behind loose clothing and never look at myself in the mirror, hitting my heaviest weight since my pregnancies. I needed to make a change.
I started following Teddi’s Instagram page and discovered the All IN program. The program caught my attention because it wasn’t a quick fix diet, it was a lifestyle change. And although it was my physical health that first drove me there, I realized I need the change to happen mentally and emotionally as well. I finally decided to do something for myself and I quickly fell in love with this lifestyle. When I first started, I was a walker, now I am proud to say I am a runner (which I never thought possible) AND signed up for my first half marathon in March 2019 – woohoo! I’m also in the process of becoming a Pure Barre instructor.
Through this program I have gained self-confidence! I give my mind and body the respect it deserves by eating clean and moving my body daily. My newfound love for running has helped me to manage my depression and anxiety. I no longer rely on emotional eating, I take out any stress and emotions on my workouts.
It is never too late to make a positive change for yourself and I can’t wait to help other women!
